If women wants to ensure the opportunity to have children in the future, there are the possibility to cryopreserve eggs (by vitrification), a technique that keeps frozen and functional for a future conception. The rate of birth defects among children born from eggs "vitrified" is 2.5 percent, a rate comparable to that of natural pregnancies or in vitro fertilization...a light at the end of the tunnel for women who have decided to postpone motherhood ;)
